Crowdfunding project for training with the exoskeleton
my good friend Olaf, whom I’ve known since we were teenagers, has started this crowdfunding project for me.
After taking care of the urgently needed new wheelchair, he now literally wants to get me back on my feet. In 2017 I was able to have ten training sessions with the exoskeleton. During this time I built up a lot of muscles. I could stand very balanced and felt bodily and mentally strengthened. Unfortunately this training is declared “intensive therapy” and is not covered by health insurance.
Since stopping therapy with the exoskeleton I have lost over 10kg (22lbs) of muscle tissue. Transfers via standing are much more difficult now, I have a lot less balance and strength and feel much more insecure during transfer. I also sit on only skin and bones and therefore have painful wounds.
Every bit of help makes a difference!
