India
My former classmate Bernd Watzal let me "take part" in a faraway trip to Bangalore, the "Silicone Valley" of India concerning the IT business. Daimler also has a IT and Engineering Development Center there. Bangalore is the capitol of the state Karnatake, 7000km from Stuttgart and has 10 million inhabitants. The city is very lively and dynamic. The traffic is an adventure, especially if trying to cross a street as a pedestrian or daring a ride in a rickshaw during rush hour. He got to know the Indians as very respectful, friendly and humorous people, except maybe the rickshaw drivers. They seem to be a different case. He was totally enthusiastic about the Indian kitchen and spices !
The first picture shows Bernd with colleagues. The next three pictures are from an excursion to the Bharachukki falls and the palace of the maharaja from Mysore, the former capitol of Karnataka. The last one is a picture from Diwali, the hindu Festival of Lights. It's
one of the biggest celebrations of the year and its importance equals Christmas.
What an impressive journey !
